Research topic to friend

uhh... I don't know who to write this to so uh just imagine somebody...

Hey friend,

My topic for my research paper is The Second-Sino Japanese War and it is AWFUL.  I hate it because not only is it boring, but it's hard to find information on because nobody really cares/knows about it so if I find something it's either nothing helpful or something I have already read just said differently making it completely useless.  Also, the reason I chose it was because I wanted to learn more about something that happened in the Pacific preferably in Japan because Japan is a country I've always wanted to visit because it's a place just rich in culture.  So, to my idiocy I chose something so agonizing and lame that I wish I could re-pick because it sucks!!

Formally:

The Second-Sino Japanese war was a war that was fought between Japan and China from 1937-1945.  It all started with the Marco Polo incident.  This incident occurred when Japan wanted access to a city to search for a missing soldier, the Chinese didn't allow it; a gunshot was heard and fighting ensued.

Prompt- Research, research, research. Explain your topic, why should we care about it, and what specifically is on your research to-do list this week?

My topic really isn't that interesting... even to me and I regret not changing but I'm stuck with it now, YAY!  I hate it, but here it goes: it's The Second Sino Japanese War it's a war that was Pre-WWII and it was between the Japanese and the Chinese.  It mainly happened because the Japanese wanted to expand their country and also because the Chinese had a large supply of minerals.  I was thinking of adding more info so it's easy like, adding how it lead to the US joining in on WWII and how that relates into rights' and responsibilities' (boring thesis btw) I hate this topic did I say that?  I don't know what I need to do on my "Research to-do list" I didn't know I had a to-do list but I'll get on that but I guess it'll be research and make some bibliographies.  Yup, I'll do that!

Prompt- What would happen in a world where it was the child's choice to go to school? Would you go to school?

If I had the choice to go to school as a child I would probably go to school, I can't believe I said that but when i think about it... I enjoyed my first few years in school.  They were probably my fondest memories of this school that I'll actually want to keep, because nobody was a judgmental as they are now... now granted I'm pretty awful and its EXTREMELY hypocritical of me to make that statement.  I got off topic...  so as a child I would think school was a great place because you get to play with your friends, play with your friends, and the teachers were super nice.  Then as I would grow up I would begin to really regret it because school doesn't become something that is fun and interesting it becomes a chore...  its a tedious chore.  Then I don't know if we can slightly manipulate the prompt but I'm going to have to because I feel it's a bit vague but its the most interesting one to me.  So, when if i could drop out whenever I wanted I would "graduate" from Elementary school I would probably finish Middle School and then drop out because I can't take the annoyance of school and the griefs and problems I've had to deal with since I began Middle school (Worst years for everyone might I add.)
