The LOTF character that i feel I relate to is/ Piggy, because he likes order, and civilization... allow me to explain. Piggy was the character in LOTF that represented Civilization and Intelligence. He was probably the only sane character that was likable and relate-able because he knew what was important. But Piggy was whiny kinda me but not really because he was physically weaker than most but I can fend for myself if I do say so myself.

My Visit to the Writing Center
Yea I've been to the writing center i went for my Thesis Proposal in Social Studies. My Writing Center person was very helpful she helped me finish the last two two paragraphs done when i had Social Studies right after this visit to the writing center. I learned that writing Thesis proposal's is difficult and that you shouldn't wait until the last second to write it because you'll regret it and get a bad grade(I got a B- btw) but still I shouldn't have waited until THE last second to finish it because it was so stressful and I hated every second of it. My paper got finished not improved but it will be getting improved because I need it for my National History Day project that is pretty important but ya know...

Free Post
So, this post won't be as serious I hate being serious SOOOO lame right? I just felt it necessary to get that outta my head... so i'm going to talk about the next-generation of video gaming, don't be so shocked video games are all I like to talk about on these things that we are forced to do might I add. But, the Playstation 4 came out this past Friday and I can't say I'm too excited and then the Xbox One (Dumbest name ever btw) is released this coming Friday. Now, I know this is a pretty big deal for people who enjoy video games more than myself and I love the advancement of technology more than the next guy, but I feel like this kind of sucks because they are both a ridiculous amount of money and I know I'm gonna have to ace every test i take from here til Christmas and I cant say I'm thrilled for that. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the Xbox One because thats what my friends are getting and that console seems to have a lot more games available on release day that are interesting. I'm getting kinda bored writing so I'm gonna get to the point I dont like what is coming for the future only because i gotta buy it over and then in 7 years im gonna have to do it again and again and again so yea

Why are you so mean?? Why are you so weird?
So this is going to be a little bit more serious than my other blog posts that nobody reads but here it goes:
People always ask/tell me that I'm mean or I'm weird and you know i don't really take it to heart because I don't really care about the majority of the people in our grade because I don't know I'm not interested in what they are interested in and I have friends that have the same point of view as me and those are the people I enjoy being around. When people ask me why I'm so mean I respond with I'm sarcastic you're just sensitive or you don't read sarcasm well. And you know that's the truth I have a dry sense of humor and people don't understand it and it offends some people and people think I'm mean for that and then there are occasion where i am actually mean so I guess that is a factor as well. Anyway the point my point is that I'm a just a sarcastic person and I'm not that good of a person regardless but I mean I kind of try and stop being like that but you know being raised with sarcastic parents and relatives, that kind of rubs off on you so its a pretty hard habit to just drop you know?
Next thing I'm gonna talk about is how everyone always says I'm weird or that I'm annoying, now granted I gotta agree with those people I'm pretty annoying and I'm definitely weird but you know I'm just enjoying myself trying to make the most outta this awful experience we call High School that is supposed to be the "Best Years of Our Lives" which is a complete load of garbage I hate high school its boring, full of rules, too much work and I just want to enjoy my life and do what I wanna do and I know I annoy people but i like to get under people's skin and just agitate them because I think it's really funny but like my sarcasm I try and break that but unlike my sarcastic side I don't kn ow where this part of my personality came from. But whatever ya know? Who cares? I don't. I'm pretty content with my lifestyle and I know this is just an awkward phase as everyone goes through... I hope it's a phase anyway

Deserted on an island simulation
Alright so since we are reading Lord of the flies we had to do a little activity for it and it was a pretty cool one. We had to simulate what we should do if we were in the character shoes which I found cool because I like activities that are just based on group effort it's fun and engaging. It was cool I mean I had a headache and didn't participate as much as I should've ya know? But thts ok it was cool as I said I don't rly remember what happened mainly bc I've done a bunch of stuff since last Thursday that has taken most of my memory over so sorry for that I think this post is done bye bye

Reading response
So the three stories I read were the sniper, the cactus and la oblivione which really confused me. The one that sticks out most in my mind is the cactus which is probably the one I'm gonna write my analysis on. The reason is is because it stuck out the most to me because it really interested me and confused me because I didn't understand it's theme and the things I understood made me like the story and made me want to write my paper on that story all because of how it was the more interesting story I read.
Free post
So a free post... Yay!! So what should I talk about? Umm how about GTA? So as you know Grand Theft Auto V came out and I've been playing it for a couple weeks and I gotta say its fun but video games aren't something that mess you up and all that talk about violent games poisoning kids minds is ridiculous GTA to me actually decreases the violence in people because it's ridiculous antics and fun just makes everything not violent I mean you can do more than kill people there's so much more to it. But people exaggerate everything and make games seem bad but they really aren't

Plot for short story
I've had a couple ideas for the plot of my short story, and i personally that they are all really cool. In fact, i like the several plot ideas a lot that i can't decide as i would assume a lot of you guys have the same issue because our minds are so incredible that so many things are created its hard to choose. I guess i could explain one of them so here it goes... Niko is out one night at a club on a pretty average Saturday night with his friends. He's having a great time when he sees a immoral action done, the abuse of a women, having his own sense of morales he beats the man who struck the women. Unknown to Niko however the man beating this women (while still incredibly uncool and sick.) Was a son of a major mobster, Lorenzo "Fabuloso" de peluche. I don't know a good name yet so don't look at me like a complete idiot i know you will so quit it. While Niko couldn't care less who this sick man was beating a women as you might have assumed with common sense this causes some problems for him and the plot goes on to explain the hardships of dealing with the mob and other things in the way that he has to deal with but thats pretty much the basis of my plot and it needs a lot of work but i think it will turn out to be really cool in the end... Can't say how excited i am to write my own story it seems really cool.
Short Stories talk
Ok, so this post is pretty confusing but, i've learned that short stories are a lot harder than i always thought. The story that really sticks out of my mind is AP because it kind of reminds me of real life things, despite the time it was written. I mean think about it, the main character Sammy was incredibly judgmental just like a lot of people now. We all judge each other regardless of our real feelings about the person we are judging. It's pretty disgusting when you hear it from someone huh? But for example Sammy really liked the blonde girl he referred to as "Queenie" yet he judged her even though at the same time he was incredibly attracted to her. But anyway, i forgot the POV we were looking for in our stories so i'm gonna go off on a limb and say that AP was about Character personality... I'm probably wrong but what i found so interesting was Sammy and his point of view. Now, side tracking from that because i don't want to "praise" AP despite it was the best story in my humble opinion. Another story that sticks out in my mind is A old man with enormous wings, i found it so interesting because it was just so bizarre that it sticks out fondly and not in the good way. Let me elaborate, AOMEW was really weird but it had a very cool setting and plot my problem however was that it didn't make you want to connect with the characters or want to read the story as a whole. This is mainly because there is no character development and that makes everything boring, what makes a story interesting is the protagonist that the reader/audience (depending if its a movie or book.) can connect to. In that story there isn't a protagonist therefore no reason to care at all. I'm probably missing the point of this post but this post is pretty difficult because, i have no clue what i'm supposed to be writing about because all these stories bored me in their own way making this a hard thing to do because if there is no real interest and i'm only doing it to "learn about short stories or because i have to." I feel uninterested as a reader and that isn't fun, you all know being forced to read something boring isn't fun.
Anyway heres my reading log for the week of 9/23/13- 9/30/13:
A very old man with Enormous wings: 35 minutes 4 pages (plus annotating creating length)
Dry September 55 minutes 12 pages (also annotating)

Reading response: Annihilation
I didn't get too many pages in this week which is quite troubling but its just this week so i'm not worried. In Annihilation Theron and Teffi'th (his friend he saved.) the story is shifted to the Republic capital where we meet with the "Homeland Security" of the Republic talking to the leader of the armies 15th precinct and they discuss defense and about how the cold war that had been going on had become the galactic war. There isn't really a response for this entry because it was all political jargon and it was incredibly uninteresting which is why i didn't reach my normally amount of pages i was unfocused and bored. I plan on doubling my regular amount of pages this week because i'm pretty upset with myself not getting my usual amount done.
It's getting kind of hard to do these responses because i don't really know what to write about so this response will be a little light on contents.

Voice of character for Short story
Well before i describe my characters voice let's start out with his name and few of his traits. My characters name is Niko "Cazablanca" and i haven't thought of a last name yet. He's a tall, brown haired man with a a scruffy beard. He's arrogant, adventurous and most of all he's got an urge to protect his friends. So all in all he's a pretty good guy. He has a deep, thick Scottish accent that is hard to understand he likes to party and is very good with the ladies. Normally when Niko goes to sleep he dreams of the greatest adventure anyone could possibly think of. I mean, he's pretty awesome and an all round good guy he's the ideal protagonist in a story for me, that's of course my opinion but that's all that matters right?

Reading Response: Annihilation
So i'm reading 2 books right now and i'm focusing more on Annihilation by Drew Kaphsryn. Currently Theron Shan was looking for a friend and i didn't want to say much more. Theron has asked the cartel man Morbo to free his friend Teff'ifth (that's her name by the way.) After running into her ambush Theron saves her from her assailants sent by Morbo to kill her while she was smuggling "spice" (drugs) that was owned by another drug lord due to a turf situation. That was about 30 pages of the book where i read 125 pages, the whole point of this was to show how important the whole friendship is involved in this minor ordeal of the novel.
This book is pretty awesome a lot of action and is just keeping my on the tip of my toes and i love every second of reading it. However, i must admit its a tad boring to get into in the start and i really am glad i didn't quit reading it.

Class E-book
I don't have any people that i need to protect because i'm not bashing anyone. However some pictures that would help emphasize my narrative. Pictures of doughnuts, Junie B. books AND an old woman reading to her child/grandchild. Also I wouldn't have my paper double-spaced because its so perfect it doesn't need any editing, AND because double spacing is just weird it doesn't look good to me. I can't think of any title, designs for i'm not artistic or creative what so ever but that's okay I'm fine with that.
Can i add my reading log to this post?? I'm gonna do it but i'll put it on my reading response too.

Dialogue post
This story is about 2 guys at a coffee shop being cool.
"I'll have a cappuccino with a bunch of other silly things thrown in because it isn't actual coffee its girly drinks, hey Phil how goes it?"
"I'm doing good Geoff, i see your ordering yet another non-related coffee drink just because you can't follow the way of society due to your hipster personality."
"Yea that's true, but at least my coffee has taste and isn't that awful McDonalds coffee you buy every morning."
"While that may be true, my taste buds are broken anyway, always have been so i couldn't care less."
"Ah, well why don't we trade for a day?? You drink my "hipster coffee and I'll drink your bland garbage coffee."
"Ok, you're on punk."
Phil on first day with black coffee- "AGH, man that tastes like sadness and pure bitterness."
Geoff on first day with hipster coffee- "OH MAN!!! This stuff is amazinggggg!!!!"
The two friends came to the realization that hipster coffee is so much better than bland black coffee from McDonalds.
Thank you for reading,
Mac Bridges

Reading Response #3- 9/9/13
I'm still on The Throne of Fire and i kind of side stepped off of that book and began to read another book. It's called Annihilation by Drew Karpshyrn it's the same franchise as Revan except much farther in the future about 3 centuries in fact. I'm having a lot of difficulty reading lately im not getting a lot of pages in a week and Dr. D if you read this i'm not really ok with it but you know i'm only human hehe. Anyway, in Annihilation we follow the Republic SIS agent Theron Shan who is a cyborg and in the beginning of the book he's on a las vegas type planet and he's looking an old friend but i can't say much more due to spoilers and such. However things are quite crazy, the leader of the empire obviously the emperor is presumed dead and everything on their home planet is dysfunctional and power is just out of sync.
The whole point of this book is to explain unanswered questions and bring up new ones, this franchise of books is for complete nerds which i, shamelessly admit to being ;) but i enjoy this book quite a bit it's incredibly interesting. I should talk about the main book Throne of Fire this is my post for last week due to it not appearing for some reason. Last i left off Sadie had gone to visit her grandparents in London for her b-day and got into loads of trouble, while Carter was worrying his behind off and somehow knew something was going on halfway across the world. Then he went to go try and find her, whats truly going is the Magic using household is definitely attacking Carter and Sadie's house and everyone knows what's coming. I'm incredibly pumped for the next few chapters i thoroughly enjoy this book but i like to take my time and savor everything. Much like most people who like to watch TV shows for example, me and Breaking Bad i'm slowly taking my time to go through the series and enjoying it.

Blog Entry #4- Scene from past week
So my scene is from 2 weeks ago and it is about how my childhood friend Griffin Hillis came to my house after moving back from Florida after moving there about 5 years.
I was sitting on my incredibly comfy chair reclined chilling watching Malcolm in the Middle, and i fell asleep (best nap ever btw.) When i hear a ding dong and a few knocks on my front door, giddy with excitement i rushed to the door and opened it joyously. Sure enough it was Griffin, we immediately rushed upstairs and flash backed to some good memories and began to get up to speed with each other, A plus side to this btw was my new amazing laptop came in so yea. Then about 30 minutes later my friend Cody whom you all know arrived, well we kind of just did a bunch of really stupid things, like eating pizza throwing basketballs at each other, fighting, listened to terrible music (it was Chief Keef terrible, terrible artist) and then we crashed. The next day we woke up at 10 and made grilled cheeses and cooked bacon cuz who doesnt like bacon? Then we saw Elysium which was awesome and we all enjoyed it, Cody left about 1 hour after we got back from Elysium and Griffin and I had some burgers from The Londoner (Sponsorship) and threw some food at each other. Then we watched Netflix and that was incredibly funny we fell asleep at 3 and awakened at 12, we went to brunch at a fancy restaurant Mansurs on the Boulevard (Another Sponsorship) where i was offered a job which of course i rejected due to being under age. We ate and left then we just chilled and at 6 Griffin left and i was sad faced because that weekend was a lot of fun plus we were starting school (blegh) and i had to deal with that too.

Reading Response: Throne of Fire
I don't know what these "personal questions" are so that confused me, and i was planning on reading the next book in the series for I love this series.
This book takes place about 6 months after the events of The Red of Pyramid and things have changed Sadie and Carter are 2 teenagers who have come into the world of Ancient Egyptian gods and have come to realize they have an Ancient Egyptian royalty bloodline. They have to overcome the coming Chaos (Apocalypse) coming in the next 5 days, in order to do that they have to find 3 scrolls of Ra, and so far have come into two obstacles along the way of getting them.
The first problem starts right at the beginning of the book, the two protagonists and their students (they teach magic to people because they're that good.) Walt and Jaz both whom are both semi-good magicians, while they are going through the Brooklyn museum looking for the artifact that Carter's "partner god" Horus tells him to go find (by the way Horus had only informed Carter of the coming apocalypse 6 days before so yea.) the artifact Horus had told Carter to find. They set off a bunch of magical traps while setting the city of Brooklyn on "fire" it wasn't really fire that burned you but it was fire don't ask. They found the scroll and high-tailed it outta the museum because cops were there. But i'm really just getting into the book it's very big. The next obstacle is The House of Life which is a group of magicians who control the Egyptian Gods and know all about Egypt's history and such. They know what Carter and Sadie are up to and Vladimir i forgot his last name, is sent to attack the protagonists place of work and that's where i stopped readin

My Summer
My summer was pretty much a complete compilation of everything that i enjoy which is video games, camp, and lastly sleeping. I enjoyed my summer because it started on a little bit of a bad note but ended on a very good one. The reason it started of a little badly was because it began the day before my cousins mother funeral which was upsetting. However it ended on an amazing note because i was talking to my good friends again AND my friends moved back to Louisiana which is awesome. Not to mention i get to see all the lovely people of Butternut High and isn't that just enough to make anyone happy? By the way that wasn't sarcasm so don't even question me.
I think that my summer was pretty amazing because i really was all over the place i went to Carolina for camp, i went to Illinois and spent the majority of my summer with my cousin Jaden whom is very weird (Just to let you know.), and i went to Canada to see my mother and her family. The first part of my summer i spent at camp which is Camp Carolina, the best camp ever and i saw all my amazing friends that go there and i enjoyed that 3 weeks thoroughly. The next thing was a week in Illinois which was quite a bit of entertainment for Jaden and i were arguing all the time. The next 2 weeks were spent in Canada with my mom, (and yes jaden accompanied me.) We had our arguments there as well but we had a lot of fun there even with my demonic siblings. Then after those 2 weeks we went back to Illinois for another week and we watched a lot of Netflix stuff, and more arguments ensued. FINALLY the grand finale of my summer i did nothing and it was the more uninteresting part of my summer so i wont talk about it. Hope you enjoyed this amazing blog post on this amazing blog
Reading Response to The Knife of Never Letting Go
I disliked the book The Knife of Never Letting Go because i thought it was incredibly boring and it wasn't interesting to me. There are many reasons why i disliked the book but i only have 2 paragraphs so i will only talk about 2. The entire book i was bored of the book, i personally thought it was incredibly dull there was really no action and it bored me to death (Obvious exaggeration.) The second reason and this is going to seem silly but how Aaron just refused to die he was mauled by a crocodile, bitten by a dog, while near death almost drowned, AND he got stabbed. He just refused to die and it bugged me a lot and i know the author did it that way for explaining but it frustrated me. The first reason i disliked the book was because i thought it was boring, the reason i thought it was boring is because when I began the book i pictured Prentisstown to be dis-colored, gray skies, just practically a ghost town with inhabitants(yea, i know that ghost towns don't usually have people i don't care.) The point is that it was a boring thought in my head. Todd was incredibly dull and he bored me as a main character, He was like Obi-Wan in the star wars prequels boring and dull.
The second reason i disliked the book was because as i stated earlier it's silly but how Aaron wouldn't die, I chose this because it frustrated me beyond measure. I mean if you get mauled by a crocodile, get knocked out face down in the water ( In which case you drown.), AND have half your face bitten off by a dog you should be dead. I don't think that the author really thought this through because Aaron was only human and last i checked humans are easily damaged so the fact that he survived all 3 of these things is ridiculous. I was truly annoyed by Aaron and his invulnerability to damage so much that it seriously inflicted the rating of the book for me i truly disliked this in the book, not like i liked it that much even if this was a problem. I really didn't like The Knife of Never Letting Go and i didn't like the fact it was a forced read.
